Hello, I need advice on how to cut a bamboo stalk. A little background: I bought a large vase in a mall and this beautiful piece of bamboo. The intention is to add a betta fish to the bowl. The stalk is about 3 inches too tall and I'd like to know if I can cut it (the stalk, not the leaf foliage) and if I can, where do I make the cut. I wish I could tell you what type bamboo it is but the best I can do is to say it's what you'd buy at a mall or at Ikea or at a small nursery, very common. I did buy 5 stalks of this same type at Ikea a few years ago and it's done very well in my guest room. I would appreciate any information on cutting and came here to ask because no one else I've asked, including my local nursery, has a clue. Thanks in advance! Janie
