Alphose Karr

Hi, I' new to the forum and to bamboo planting. I bought a couple of Alphose Karr (B. Mutiplex) bamboo almost 2 years ago. I put them in pots. They have not been doing well. Both of them got black sticky stuff on their leaf joints and there were lots of ants on them. I tried spraying them with a fungus and mold spray. It helped a tiny little bit, but then it came back again. Last month, I transplanted both of them in the ground. One died and the other survived. The surviving one is still very diseased and I don't know what to do with it. Any idea what's going on? Would appreciate any input you might have.
P.S. I would have posted a picture here if I know how to. Any idea how I can do that?
