Help, I would like to know if there are species of bamboo that will grow up here in the lower Cascades between Mt Shasta and Mt Lassen in north eastern California. It gets very cold here (can get down to zero) and we have a 50 degree temp change most days. Also it can be very dry although we have lots of water access, hot in summer 100 degrees but it cools off at night, and we have volcanic soil. running bamboo is no problem to control i would just like to add this to my garden as there is already a clump of looks like yellow groove that is looking poor. thanks
