I really want to use an organic fret for my Buddha Belly and my Oldhamii but have read that chicken manure should not be used because it may burn the roots. Is the EB Stone bag okay to use? It says that it is fully composted on their site. http://www.ebstone.org/13_chicken.php Thanks. If chicken manure is a no go, any other easy to find bagged recommendations?

It's pretty hard to damage bamboo, short of preventing it from getting any water. Almost any fertilizer will work just fine with bamboo. I use Osmocote controlled release fertilizer, others use standard grass fertilizer, and I'm sure that fully composted chicken manure will not be a problem.

For my smaller bamboos that I am trying to upsize faster, I use fresh chicken manure, and it doesn't burn them at all. It just makes them turn greener, and more vigorous.
