black spots on my bambusa multiplex(m)

both Alphonse Karr and my stripestem fernleaf have this icky black stuff, looks like it is on the culm where it joins with the branch and leaves.

My bambusa malingensis doesn't have ANY ,so it must be something plaguing my bambusa multiplex. Any advice how to treat this?

I was thinking of bringing one of the Alphonse Karr into my house but not with this on it!

It's likely caused by aphids which secrete a sticky, sugary substance (that ants love). This secretion can also contribute to the growth of sooty mold, which is probably what you are seeing. Hose everything off and apply something to zap the aphids. You may not be easily able to dissolve the gunk on the plant without physically rubbing and rinsing the spots. It's unsightly, but not too serious.
