I have Semiarundiaria fastuosa 'Viridis' (the all-green form). It started as a 5' tall, well-rooted, potted division and this is its second winter in the ground. Last year it put out 6 or so new culms between 5 and 7' tall. I've protected it both winters by wrapping it with plastic. Last winter had almost no damage, but this year the leaves that were sticking out of the top look to be about 50% fried. We had a much colder than usual period earlier this winter which caused that.
