I just have p. nigra (Henon), which is supposed to be a grayish bamboo. If I were you I'd either try ebay or else plunk down some cash for a species you want. Apparently it's not easy to transplant them and ship 'em, according to the stuff I have read on this forum. Growers typically take cuttings and keep them in pots for a few months before they ship them so they survive better.

beautiful bamboo 30 mins outside of Orlando has two varieties of black bamboo, and their prices are quite reasonable. Though if you go out there like I did you will probably end up picking up more than you originally planned to get.
