recommandations for bamboo in bay area (Fremont)

I have set up a corner of my yard ready for bamboo. I installed a 30-inch tall 60mil root barrier. It is a triangle shape with about 200 square feet, I would say.

I am looking for bamboo that

. ideally grow to about 10' to 12' tall

. are more or less standing-straight and evenly-spreading type (not those tightly-clumping and weeping type)

. can be confined with my root barrier (less penetrative in other words).

I was initially attracted by the beauty of black bamboo (P. Nigra), but now got a little scared by a horror story that it traverses through a concrete street and reaches the neighbor's frontyard (Search the thread "How tall will black bamboo grow in Bay erea" in California garden forum). Is this one really that bad?

I am also a little confused by the data points I got as to how tall they will grow.

I'd appreciate any pointers.
