Bamboo Transplant

Can someone answer this - if I transplant a huge rootball from some Giant Clumping Bamboo thats been shooting up 3' or bigger culms in past couple of years - if the transplants takes, will the shoots come up the same size???

And what would be the best time to transplant???

Thanks.. I found a company that has a huge Mechanical Tree Grabber on a truck..

I think a lot of it has to do with how big the rootball transplant is. The larger the rootball, the sooner it will recover and reach maturity.

I transplanted some one summer that when moving it, I noticed it already had 'eyes' or buds, or whatever you call them, and they were quite large. A couple of months later, some came up full size, but not many. I think since it was recently transplanted, it used most of it's energy to grow more roots then it was using to put up new shoots.
