Bambusa Green Goddess

A few months ago I bought some clumping bamboo Chinese goddess riveroum?? Anyway, doesn't really matter. I thought it would do fine in San Antonio, then I read that clumping bamboo does not tolerate alkaline soil. Then, I read it needs lots of moisture and full shade...

Grrhhh. I was thinking of putting it in part shade. It would get some sun in the winter, but full shade in the summer.

I really like this dwarf bamboo and it looks like the perfect plant for this location. I keep putting off planting it because I read that clumping bamboo does not tolerate alkaline soil.

Other info that I've read about clumping bamboo has not said anything about "not tolerating alkaline soil", but I got my information from a Texas gardening book. So, here I am wondering???

Thank you very much!!
