Mine have been shooting early here also.

I don't expect to see my Giant Timber to shoot until late July or early August.

Which Silverstripe do you have?

Not sure, it was a Home Depot cheap buy. The Giant Timber, did two shoots after planting it in September, they are both branching like crazy with new leaves.

Found another shoot on my smaller ailing Buddha's Belly, its sorely needed, I lost a lot of leaves on that one this winter.

Waiting on the A. Karr and the Giant Timber

Buddha's Belly shoot is growing just under 3 inches a day now, crazy stuff...

Jeez, found 2 more shoots in the middle of the plant, 5 shoots all going like crazy on the BB. Sure wish the ailing golden goddess and Alphonse Karr would start up. We hit 100 degrees yesterday so everything is going nuts.

FWIW, the Home Depots around here (SF Bay Area) carry bambusa oldhamii as their 'Giant Timber Bamboo'.

If it's b. oldhamii, it probably won't shoot until June-Sep.

My Oldhamii shooted last October. Siverstripe now has 3 shoots going, but nothing yet on the A. Karr...
