Can bamboo 'poison' the ground to other plants?

I've read that eucalyptus will "poison" the ground around it, making it difficult for other plants to take root.

I've noticed that some areas around my bamboo don't take new plants very well. Do any bamboos also "poison" the ground?

No. This is not an issue.
