Do you grow Fargesia robusta Green Screen in z5?

A local nursery (Weston Nursery) that I consider pretty reputable told me that they are getting in Fargesia robusta Green Screens in a few weeks.

I'm in zone 5 and when I google this bamboo I see hardiness limits anywhere from zone 5 to zone 7.

Anybody have success with this bamboo in zone 5? I'd love to try this plant but it's expensive and my husband will kill me if I buy a few and they all promptly die. :)

Fargesia rufa has a better shot in zone 5. It'll get to a shorter height of 8'.

I planted 16 Fargesia Robusta "Green Screen" plants just outside of Pittsburgh, PA. They are doing well and are about 2 feet high. They were planted in April and it’s now October. Question: What are the chances they will thrive and grow tall (6-10ft)? Is the zone 6 minimum listing fact or farce? I will share my experience as their first winter approaches. However, I will be HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED if these things are stunted year after year (winter). Looking for feedback and honest opinions. (They are shielded from wind). My local Lowes sold them so I am expecting results. Plus zone 6 is listed on the literature.

stunner-
Hardy to Zone 6 means that the root system probably won't die as long as the temperatures don't get unusually low for too long. F. robusta is hardy to about -4F, but will suffer leaf and culm damage at temperatures above that. For example, below is a link to a photo of a Ph. nuda, which is supposed to be hardy to -20F, and what it looked like when it got to -12F. A few people grow bamboo in places as cold as Zone 4, but are used to providing heavy protection and expect aboveground dieback each winter. Your mileage may vary...you'll only know at the end of the winter. If your bamboo survive the winter, they may come back a little stronger each year, but progress could be slow. By the way, I have seen many plants for sale at big box stores that are not appropriate for my locale, so I wouldn't put much reliance on the fact that it was sold to you at Lowe's. It will be interesting to hear what your experience has been next spring.

Here is a link that might be useful: Ph. nuda in winter

I did not have good success with F. robusta 'Green Screen' in the St. Louis area. It got a little smaller each year and top-killed last winter. My 'rufa' was virtually untouched.
