Suggestions on type of bamboo privacy hedge.

We are purchasing an existing home in the Nashville area (zone 7) with a fairly large backyard. One side has a traditional 8'wooden privacy fence. Along the open back yard, the neighbors have constructed a gigantic 2-story playscape and "playhouse" which appears to be 18-20' tall, and is painted all kinds of fun colors for kids.

I thought the best solution (although it will take several years to accomplish) would be to "grow" a fence to block the view of this structure.

It CAN get down to 5 degrees F. in Nashville, so the bamboo has to be hardy. The yard has many tall deciduous trees, but their shade would disappear in the 5 months of Winter. The bamboo must be capable of growing to AT LEAST 20' (more is fine) while retaining dense foliage at the base for privacy and he security.

Obviously, a clumping variety is required to limit the spread of this hedge/fence. Also, the total width is around 100' and I would prefer to purchase 1-3 gallon containers, rather than the more expensive mature and taller stock (read "cheap SOB"). Any advice? Thank you in advance.
