Nice photos and it does look like Golden, although I didn't see any of the compressed internodes on any of the lower culms.

There are countless stands along the Brazos and surrounding areas also.

How large is this stand of bamboo?

There were lots of culms there with the compressed internodes towards the bottom so I figured it was P.Aurea. Are there other types of bamboo common to central TX (or other areas) that have that same compressed internode characteristic?

This stand is growing between a small pond and along a dirt road. It stretches maybe 100yrds along the side of the road but also extends into the field where the pond is. The owners keep the field side shredded so it doesn't go too far beyond the pond. The tallest culms were maybe 25'.

Since there are so many groves of this type growing around TX and it flowers so infrequently, it always makes me wonder how that grove at the back of that remote pasture got started.
