| I have acquired a few shoots of bamboo and grower does not now the identity. I know it is a clumping variety, grows approximately 12 -15 feet in height, the mature cane is approximately 1 inch in diameter...beyond that we know nothing. I have pictures of the remnants of the cane which was bush hogged about ten days ago as well as new shoots that are coming up. There is one photo of a few shoots where the leaves have opened. What do you recommend for identifying this variety? |

| Unfortunately that's far too little info to make an identification. You'd need to provide photos of mature culms with foliage to even get in the ballpark. Also, why are you sure it's a clumper? There are many runners that can stay in clump form for years. Have you examined the root structure? Sorry to be so unhelpful, but there are over 1200 species of bamboo and they can sometimes be difficult to identify in the best of circumstances. |
