thamnocalamus crassinodes in the south?

is this a useless attempt?

i saw nice 3 gallon plants for sale locally. im in central alabama. i know this plant doesnt like heat, but im willing to try in a shady cool microclimate.

i have borinda boliana surviving....id be willing to try crassinodes if it has a chance at all. would love to hear about any cultural info and experience.

I grow Borinda boliana and Thamnocalamus tessellatus and they do well here. Not sure how T. crassinodes would do.
