Planted in wrong spot

I think I might have planted my bamboo too close to the house. Will it do any damage to the foundation? It is a P. bory. I am thinking about digging it up it has only been there 1 year so still small enough to dig up. Does bamboo really invade septic piping? How would it get into the pipe I would think it would just grow around it since that is what bamboo does when it hits a barrier of some sort.

RE: Planted in wrong spot

Bamboo will do nothing to the foundation, unless it is old and already has a lot of good size cracks that could be infiltrated by rhizomes. I have had bamboo growing right next to my house for years with no damage. Trust me...intact concrete is a good barrier.

Also, unlike tree roots, I have never seen bamboo invade underground piping. If there are no holes to penetrate it will do nothing.

Bottomline: if you like where it is planted, quit worrying.
