Crooked Bamboo Dying

I recently bought a house with a groove of crooked bamboo in the back. Of late, certain stalks seem to be dying, turning a pale green, losing their leaves, and even becoming more pliable and soft. They also seem to be weeping a clear fluid. Could this be fungus?

Could you post a couple of pictures? I've never seen bamboo do this. From your description, this may not be bamboo, but a plant that looks like bamboo. How certain are you that this is bamboo? Do the culms (stalks) have branches that the leaves are attached to, or are the leaves directly attached to the culm like a corn plant? Does the plant look anything like the photo in the link below?
