Running bamboo in 5 x 3' space: am I crazy?

I bought two yellow groove plants for privacy and shade for my tiny front yard (10 x 11' total). Originally I had the bamboo plants in large pots, but I decided to put them in the ground this weekend, sort of on a whim. I planted them in 8" mounds and dug a 4" trench on the sides I need to contain it on. The short side (3 feet) of the planting area is about 3' from a property line. I hope it will grow into a thick screen in this small area. The tallest shoots are already about 10 feet tall.

I am more than happy to do root pruning and rhizome removal often--this is my only garden space and I spend a lot of time in it.

That said, I do have some concerns, namely:

1) Is this bamboo bound to spread over the property line eventually, despite frequent root pruning/removal?

2) Will it be easy to miss rhizomes growing more than 12" down in the soil? Do they often grow that far down?

3) Will I just have to dig up the plants in a few years?

I really appreciate any responses.
