Take a look at the following website. You can click on "species list" and view/sort by your requirements. You can also click on "plants" and view pictures of mature plants in most cases. Seeing a young plant in a 5 gallon pot is a lot different than what a small grove will look like. If you are a zone 5, then you will probably be looking at getting some of the more hardier Phyllostachys (runners) and Fargesias (clumpers). Once you have it narrowed down. Post a few here and/or on BambooWeb (they have a forum too) and people will help you make the final decision. (*most people can't stop at just one once they start buying bamboo - so beware!)
