| Please help to ID this bamboo. We have it for 4 years and I have no idea what kind of bamboo that is.
Every ear it sends 2-3 new canes out and it does not spread too far from the original clump. It has never shown any signs of cold damage here in Georgia.

| The overall form, slight curve to the culms, size, shoots, and small number of new culms each year suggests Dulcis to me. Just a guess... |

| Thanks for your replies! I did some research for the Ph. Rubromarginata and Dulcis. My bamboo does not have red color on new shoots as Rubromarginata and does not have yellow green striping as Dulcis. I think it looks more like Phyllostachys aurea. It is very invasive here in Georgia, but not on my property! I wish it can "infest" my backyard! Any other ideas? Thanks! |

| This could be PHYLLOSTACHYS Bambusoides aka Janpanese Giant Timple or Madake... See if they have fine hair on some of the leaves like this I have one planted on Sept 05 and have about 3 new shoots this year and the shoots are like this and this is how my Madake looks like last month Do a google and see if I am right :) this is only my 2nd year growing bamboo... but thought I would throw in my two cents :) hope this helps |
