Fargesia dracocephala grown indoors?

Hi,
Im a college student living in Virginia and wanted to start growing a bamboo plant. I picked out fargesia dracocephala and I have read several sites with very different answers. I just want to know if I can grow it indoors and survive. I was hoping I could talk to people with some experience with this plant instead of reading misleading sellers trying to get rid of their plants. Thanks.

Hieu

I would reconsider the species you are choosing. There are many that will do pretty well indoors, but I haven't heard of F. dracocephala being one of those. In addition, although it's a beautiful bamboo, it has a weeping habit that may not lend itself to a small room. This is not to say it won't work, but there are others that come sooner to mind. Here is a link to an article about growing bamboo indoors from a reliable nursery; there is another link at the bottom of that article that lists good indoor candidates
