I used it in the past with great results. I mixed 2 ounces per gallon and watered my potted bamboos with that.

I don't think you could give too much unless you use it every time you water the plant.

I had to stop using it since it attracted wild animals(skunks, coons, etc) which would come and dig the plants out of the pots...apparently looking for something to eat which was the odor coming from the fish emulsion.

I've had the same problem with raccoons digging around plant roots when I use fish fertilizer outside. I would suggest something safer (and gentler), like Osmocote slow release fertilizer.
