They passed a law in my town that you cannot have bamboo or if you do, must keep it contained to your property. I received a Notice of Violation think my idiot neighbor called the town. I have a beautiful area in my yard with bamboo (it was there when i bought my house 12 years ago) which I want to keep. So now we are in the process of cutting it back 6' from fence and need to prevent it spreading. I googled and read about some kind of bamboo barrier thick plastic rolls to prevent rhizomes traveling. Anyone have any suggestions on depth or know if this stuff works? I need to hire an excavator to dig trenches and it is very costly.
