We have three bamboo plants total and were planted within the past couple of years. They all seem to be growing well except for one thing, the ground where they are planted is covered with dead leaves. Now I know it is normal for bamboo to shed dead leaves in the spring but the black nigra especially seems to have an excess. This one bamboo seems to have more yellow leaves than it shouldd.

So I have cut way back on watering. My question is, do those of you who grow bamboo have yellow leaves during the summer? Also how much do you water your plants? They all have lots of new growth on them and are planted in a place that receives great morning sun.
