Cutting my Bambusa Bamboo to propagate

orlando2002

I Have a well established Bambusa (clumping bamboo). I live in Sanford, Fl.

My Bamboo has like 20 clums (they are 15-20 feet tall.

ONE of the clums, for any reason, dryed from the middle to the top. But, the green part (middle to bottom) it is very heatlhy and full of leaves. I guess It was growing when last winter got harsh, and burned the top of that culm.

I removed the dried part of the culm. The clum is still 5-6 feet tall. It remind me the size and look of the culm I bought 4 years ago when I got this beautiful Bambusa.

Everyone knows how can I cut this culm, close to the ground and promote some roots?

I read I have to cut the clum above the node closet to the ground. But how can I promote new roots?

I am planing to plant this Bamboo clum in a big, nice container until is well stablished, and then plant it in my yard, maybe in a couple of years.

Can I plant it directly to the pot with a good potting soil and It will get roots? or I have to leave it in water until new roots appears? it is a big clum to put it in a glass container to promote roots.

I will really appreciate your help.
