I may have made a booboo when I planted my P. Aurea last year. It was in wooden pots about 16 inches on all sides. I did NOT spread the roots out when I planted it. This year it has thrived but not a single shoot came up outside of what would be the imaginary barrier of the old pot. I was sure it would spread even if just 6 inches or so, but not at all. It is very strong in all other aspects. At the same time I planted P. Nigra from smaller containers and that has spread VERY nicely! :) If the roots are root bound any cure? Will this just slow down the spread? Any danger to the overall plant? Thanks!
