ground cover bamboo

Hey Guy's i'm relandscaping my front yard and want to use a ground cover bamboo. any suggestions ? zone 5/6 southern exp. loam soil. thanks. Tootall

I suspect the reason you haven't gotten answers is that it's not really possible to do this. Here are the reasons:

1. There isn't a bamboo that is truly "groundcover"...the shortest bamboos get at least 18" tall.
2. In you Zone, there are probably no short bamboos that are hardy enough to survive the winter.
3. Even if 1. and 2. weren't problems, it would take probably 5 years for bamboo cover your front yard, unless you wanted to spend large amounts of money upfront for many, many plants.
