I am in los angeles.

There are two D. giganteus' being grown. One is the Indian variety and one is from Thailand, both grow differently.

Is there a ban on shipping plants across the CA border at the present time?

Another large variety you might like to look at is D. brandisii. Another very large and nice looking Dendrocalamus also with large leaves.

I don't know about the ban but thanks for the suggestion. Some out of state sellers do not sell to CA (need some certificate).
