i live in southeastern oklahoma (caddo). i want to plant some type of bamboo as a privacy barrier. i have no idea what kind to get. i didn't have any idea there were so many different types. It's very windy here, very hot in the summer and the average in winter is about 40 to 50 degrees. all help appreciated. thanks

It will be the summer heat that will be the problem. How hot do those summers get and for how long? And will the bamboo be out in the open with no shade? Can it be well-wateered (every day if necessary)? What else grows in the location you want to plant it?

The hardiest screening bamboo I grow is Bisettii. It takes below 0 temps and puts up alot of close grouped culms with many small leaves that take wind better than any of the 12 species I grow.
