I don`t think so, I think it would lose all foliage at frezing. Im in zone 8 and im not even sure if I should keep mine out this winter.

nucci-
It will only be winter hardy in your Zone if you bring it inside. I'm in Zone 8 where we're above freezing almost all winter. The worst weather we had last year was 3 days of a freak cold snap where it got down to 15F overnight, and I wasn't smart enough to take my potted A. Karr inside. It completely defoliated and a number of culms died. In your Zone it would be a goner. Sorry...

Alphonse Karr Growth

I have Alphonse Karr, I bought it last month.. since then it has sprouted about 5 culms all very small, all of which have only grown barely a inch in a week? Is this normal, I have Oldhammi next to it and it has one culm that has grown a foot in this same time period?? Any ideas?
