HELP! Identify this bamboo

I saw a Desperate Landscapes edition "Up To Code" that used a fantastic bamboo and Jason said it was a slow grower...I want to identify this plant as I did not write it down when he said it. I looked like a clumper and had 4 narrow canes about 5' tall with very whispy-thin foliage only on the top shaped like pom pom balls. Any of you know what this was? I fell in LOVE with it and want to know if I can grow it here in Southern CA.

Maybe Chusquea foliosa?

This pic is from Bamboo Sourcery.

I grew it here but it didn't like the hot Summers...100+.

Bamboo can be trimmed to many desired traits, including pom pom balls.
