I have bamboo in my garden which was originally on one side of a huge & very healthy schiffleria. (did I spell that right?) Anyhow, I just went out to the garden after an extended absence and noticed 2 changes:

(1) The schiffleria is dying

(2) The bamboo has not only migrated to the other side of it, but is also growing up between the branches.

My question: Could it be that the bamboo is stabbing at the roots in an attempt to come up everywhere and killing the schiffleria as it does so?
