Ready to plant moso, should I divide the pot?

I've been enjoying the bamboo bug for about 5 years now. I have 7 running species both in containers and in-ground barriers (60-mil, 30"). I've just finished installing barrier for my moso area (12'x16'). This P. heterocycla pubescens has been in a 3-gallon nursery pot since 2005. It has done quite well in the small pot, dense growth (dozens of tiny culms), about 3 feet high with the very large leaves that characterize young moso.

My question is can/should I split this in two when I plant, or should I keep the nice root-bound clump in one piece? It probably won't make a difference, but I'm curious what the moso would like best. I tend to want to split it into two plantings for this area. I want to give the moso every benefit I can for it to thrive, though.
