pruning a sacred bali

I have a potted schizostachyum brachycladum that I want to put in the ground. It would look fantastic next to my front door. Only problem is that there is an eave over the planting area about 16 feet above the soil level.

Does anyone know if I can prune the top of this boo to 16 feet and not kill it? The yellow culms topped with a couple of feet of leaves would really be dramatic next to my entrance.

You can prune any bamboo. Topping an established bamboo will have no damaging effects. It's not a tree, it's a grass. It's like mowing the lawn, but on a slightly different scale...
