Seedlings Surviving Transplant

I transplanted my "Water Bamboo" seedlings into the ground eight days ago. They seem to have stopped growing in height. However, third leaves have formed on most of them and the previous two leaves are broader and richer in color. I'm assuming this means the roots are taking to the ground pretty well. Anyone know how long it takes for seedlings to get "rooted" to the soil and start growing in height again? We've had about a week of cloudy weather, so I suppose it's possible that conditions weren't ideal in the week after planting, which accounts for the lack in increased height.
