My fargesia robusta was planted behind a nice rock a few years back. It has grown so well that it kind of flops over the rock and hides it.

I'm considering pruning the lower limbs so that I'm left with "the lollipop" look, instead of the "cousin It" look.

I'm wondering if this is a good time of year to do it. Is there anything I need to keep in mind when attempting this?

I've had the bamboo a few years. It's probably 5 years old. This year's shoots got up to about 6'6".
