You may not have Textilis. I have only seen one bamboo labeled correctly at HD.

I believe Wongchuk is actually the original Textilis which does grow up to 50 feet, whereas the 'gracilis' is smaller and supposed to grow to only 30 feet although mine has reach 40'.

It is a very beautiful bamboo and doesn't really take up too much space. It has a very graceful habit, hence the name.

If you actually have gracilis, then you will really like it, and if you don't have it, you may have a runner, so be careful.

It doesn't look like a runner, but it does look like a Bambusa, and probably Textilis, but hard to tell which variety.

My WongChuk has some really bluish culms when young, something that my gracilis has not shown yet, maybe because it is a little young.

my big confusion is that the label said "B.textilis gracilis(wong chuk)", so it seems that it really is two different varieties of textilis!

I haven't seen bluish culms at all, just that yellowish color,definitely not a deep green.

I bought it originally because the height was said to reach max of 20-30', so I don't know what I'll do if it keeps getting taller than that!
