Too late to dig up hardy bamboo for transplant?

I'm wondering if I dig up a few plants if they will have enough time to get ready for the winter if I get them in a few weeks...or should I just wait till next year? It's some mystery bamboo, I know it's hardy in zone 5b.

Depends... are you able to keep them indoors? or protected from the outdoors? Or did you want to get them in the ground before the cold sets in? Also, if the boo your wanting is still shooting, you'd want to wait because its very likely that you'd loose those shoots during the transplant. just my 2 cents :)

Hi! No, the boo is hardy to zone 5 and stopped shooting awhile ago. I'd love to get it in the ground before cold weather sets in. I might try to dig up a big part of it and see what happens.
