The markup on those pots if you get them retail is outrageous. If you ask at some local nurseries, they may tell you where they buy pots wholesale, and you can sometimes get one of those places to sell to you, even if you're not in business. I go to a wholesale garden supply center in the Greater Seattle area that sells 15 gallon containers for under $5 apiece, which is a lot cheaper for me than buying them from a regular garden store.

I don't know about the 15 gallon pots but when i need a large plastic pot I usually go to Wal Mart and buy either a 5 gallon bucket or for the really big pots I but the large garden tub with rope handles. I drill holes in the bottoms and save about half the price of a similiar plastic pot in the garden section. If you check the paint section, automotive and home cleaning sections you will find that they have a lot of different size buckets...plus they have a carrying handle which comes in kind of handy sometimes.

You can find round, 19-gal home/shop storage/junk tubs in Lowes, etc for way under $10. All the HI and grocery stores around here seem to be inundated with deep rectangular storage bins on sale.

black/red/green nursery pots are expensive at retail, and they often don't have your desired size. As is often the case, "Internet is the best store"

If 5 gallon buckets work, don't buy them go to a restaurant and ask for them. I used to get coffee grounds in them from Atlanta Bread Company.

I know you wanted bigger but someone mentioned 5 gallon buckets. Don't pay for them.

look at bottom of a couple other pots, get name of manufacturer, look up on website/call them, and find out who their local wholesaler is. call wholesaler, tell them you want to buy some, who can you contact. I've found 3 local mom and pop wholesalers who will retain them to me in San Diego Co. I get them for $3.50 a pop. You can also get your resale license and buy them wholesale directly (but make sure you understand your state's requirements for reporting purchases with resale license that aren't destined for resale).
