Sacred Bali/schizostachyum not doing well

I have a sacred bali in a pot indoors next to a southwest facing window. It's about 4 feet tall and get's bright indirect light during the day except for the late afternoon (4:30 on), when it gets direct sun. (I live in Hawaii.) It's growing, putting up new culms, but the culms seem to grow very slowly compared to my other boos. Also, the new culms are shorter than the existing ones.

Am I doing something wrong?

I do not grow this bamboo in a pot, but since no one is answering I will give it a shot.

I have heard that this type does not do very well in pots, the green form does OK but the yellow does not. I do not know why this is, but I wonder if it gets enough light. What other types do you grow indoors?

I hadn't heard that it doesn't do well in a pot, but that makes sense. I've tried moving it around various indoors and outdoor areas and the place I've got it now seems to be ideal in terms of light and air flow (not too much sun or wind.)

I don't grow any other boos indoors, but have 2 others (oldhamii and gigant. atroviolacea) in pots outside my front door that are thriving in very similar light/air conditions as the sacred bali.

Guess I'll have to find a place in the yard for him.
