My B. tuldoides and oldhamii started shooting in late June, and shoot until early November.

My guess is that if the weather were truly tropical, they'd shoot all year 'round.

A couple of B. tuldoides shoots that stalled last autumn went dormant, rather than aborted, and finished shooting in hot weather.

Any idea if the larger canes die off when it hits 20 degrees, I know I lost all my canes last winter but they were all very small

I planted 5 5-gallon Oldhamaii last September. 4 have new culms. They started shooting in June, the latest one 3 weeks ago. I also have a B. Tuldoides in a pot that just shot a new one last week.
