My opinion is that it is one of the Bambusa multiplexes. Probably B. multiplex itself, or maybe B. mult. 'Golden Goddess'.

How tall is it and what diameter are the lower culms?
What kind of sunlight does it receive?

I would say about 25'-30' tall and some are 2" diameter maybe some alittle thicker. There are 5 big clumps and they recieve mostly filtered sunlight.

Based on the pics, I'll vote for B. multiplex, also. Size sounds right, too.

Multiplexes get only about 1.5 inches in diameter at the largest, so it must be some other form of Bambusa, although the photos still look like B. multiplex.

Where are the clumps located? How cold does it get there, and do they ever show signs of cold weather damage?

Another possibility is Bambusa textilis or one of it's varieties.

I will try to go back and put a tape on the diameter, it is possible that I am just over exaggerating the the size and they may ony be 1.5", but to me just looking at them they seem to be thicker. They are located in southern east Texas(about 40 miles north of Houston) so the temperature usually don't get all that cold and when it does get into the 20's its not for very long. I haven't seen any damage to them from the weather.

In doing more searching and comparing pictures, it looks to be Bambusa multiplex "Green Hedge"

That is about the same 8b zone area as me. The Bambusas do very well here, about 80 miles west of Houston. I still think it looks like B. mult. 'Green Hedge' as you also said.

However, it is a bit taller than mine here, which only grow to about 20 feet in height.
