Hard to get the bellies without stressing the plants. Usually the stress is caused by lack of water and heat. If you are in Northern or Central California, it will be more difficult to get bellies than the southland. If the plants are large, keeping them in containers may cause them to get rootbound so hard to make a call on what is best. Rgds
