How aggressive is Moso bamboo?

User

Just got my first Moso bamboo. Came in the mail and really looks good. I will keep it containerized until the Spring in a frost free sheltered area. I know this is a running bamboo (as are all Phyllostachys) but I was wondering how it compared to others in this genus. Some species in the genus seem to be really much more aggressive and spreading than others. Currently am growing P.nigra, vivax, viridis "Robert Young", aureus, and nidularia. Personally, I find the common aureus to be the most aggressive. While nigra and Robert Young seem more manageable. I saw a mature grove of what I figured was Moso growing in South Jersey (identified on the basis of the enormous newly emerging culms). I don't think there was any rhizome barrier in use (guess they just kick off the emerging culms at the borders of the grove to contain).
