Just wondering what everyone's personal favorites are among the temperate boos, and why. My favorites:

Phyllostachys viridis "Robert Young"

Phyllostachys nigra

Phyllostachys edulis "moso"

    My favorites are:
Phyllostachys mannii Decora - Stays green all year, cold hardy, tallest so far.
Phyllostachys aureosulcata aureocaulis - Bright yellow culms, cold hardy, tall.
Pseudosasa owatarii - Very low growing ground cover.
Pleioblastus shibuyanus Tsuboi - Consistently bright white striping on leaves.
Fargesia dracocephala Rufa - Vigorous shrub sized bamboo, cold hardy.

I especially like chimnobambusa tumidissinoda and the Anderson clone of moso. Chimnobambusa freezes back most winters(at 10)but regrows vigorously. The anderson moso has not died back here as opposed to regular moso which freezes back about half the winters.

I can't even find a picture of Borinda angustifolia. Are you sure you don't mean Bambusa??????? Even pictues of that are hard to find, so if you want to link us to one, that'd be helpful.

Sorry, I got the species wrong. It's Borinda angustissima.

Here is a link that might be useful: http://www.bamboogarden.com/Borinda%20angustissima.htm
