My moso is yellowing & some of the culms are loosing leaves & turning brown. They are not old culms & some of them sprouted this year. The patch is 6 years old with some that are 3 inches thick. Why is this happening? It is through out the patch.I fertilized in early spring & have put lots of mulch since then.It has lots of rain & watering when needed. This has been going on all summer. How can I get it green again?????????????????????

Mine is also turning yellow-green. It is not a healthy green as my other bamboo. If you find out please let me know how to correct this. cdfixer@earthlink.net

My Moso never gets deep green leaves and always turns even more yellowish at this time of the year. It has never adversely affected the plant, but it does make it look sick. Not sure what the problem is. High nitrogen fertilizer helps green-up the leaves, but it doesn't like heavy fertilizer. My grove is small and about 10 years old. Kt

I have noticed that Moso seems more temperamental than other species and are quite quick to yellow, and relatively quick to go into decline when not happy. Don't know what there problem is as I don't see this in other species of Phyllostachys, other temperate species, or tropical species such as Bambusa.
