P. jap is pretty prolific here, especially if kept in a pot. Mine shoots randomly throughout the Summer months and on into the Fall.

The most recent shoots are smaller though.

Kentuck Thanks for the info. It does seem to like being in a pot. P. Japonica looks great either in a pot or in the ground and it spreads like wildfire. I used to be all about timber bamboo but I've really grown fond of some of the smaller boos. 29 species and counting. Man I'm seriously addicted. I've almost wiped out my wish list time to start a new one. Thanks again.
