Alphonse Karr

I was under the impression that Alphonse Karr bamboo was a clumping type. Just got off the phone with someone at a local nursery and they mentioned it was a runner. Are there different types of Alphonse Karr where one variety would be more prone to running? I'm looking at using this for a hedge in an open area and anything that could run would create problems down the road.

Thanks all.

Local Nursery is incorrect. It's a clumper - Bambusa multipex Alphonse karr. RGds

Thank you!

If the nursery is so uninformed about this bamboo, make sure that they are selling you the right species...or consider buying from someone more knowledgeable.
